Town of Brentwood Native Plant Network Announces Certification Requirements
The Brentwood Native Plant Network is announcing its requirements to certify your yard to receive a sign sponsored by the Town of Brentwood. If you meet the criteria, the BNPN provide you with a sign, designed by a Brentwood artist, to place in your yard. The signs are sponsored by the Town of Brentwood.
Eligibility requirements include:Your yard must have at least ten (10) different species of native plants, andYour yard must have at least 25 total native plants.
The plants can be a combination of trees, shrubs, and perennials. Container plants can also count toward the two required criteria if you have a small yard. We anticipate we will start certifying yards in September 2023, which is a good time to plant!
If you want to see if your yard meets the criteria, forward an email to greensbrentwood@gmail.com and indicate that you would like to be added to the yard certification list. About the Network: Our mission is to restore biodiversity to our community, volunteers and residents are working together to set up the Brentwood Native Plant Network. Volunteers will educate, encourage, and assist residents, apartment owners, businesses, and our local governments with planting and documenting native plants on their properties.
